My Process

See my process using one of my projects from start to finish.  The specific details of this process can vary depending on the type of project, however, most of the core elements stay the same no matter what I'm working on.

Research
Analyze

In this research phase, I review existing designs to identify what works well and what doesn’t. I focus on key design principles to pinpoint the strongest and weakest points of each piece. I also consider user feedback and industry trends to help guide my design decisions and ensure the final result is both effective and visually appealing.

Collect

In this phase, I collect images, fonts, patterns, textures that inspire me and compile them together in order to create mood boards and a style guide.

Thumbnails

In this phase, I create rough sketches of each element in order to get ideas flowing and choose the best layout of any piece.

Wireframe

I then create a black and white skeleton of a design to set up the composition, the overall shapes and lines to guide the viewer's eye.

USER RESEARCH

In this phase, the target audience is established and research is done on their specific preferences.   I create a persona of a specific person to represent that audience and a scenario for a specific situation to cater the product towards.

Style Guide

As I'm completing these steps, I start making a guide of color schemes, fonts, icons and any other repeating elements that may be used throughout the design.

Building
Build Design

After the wireframe, I move onto building the design including any logos, icons, and any other specific features the design might need.

Feedback

Ask other's for feedback on visual aspects and usability, noting any negative and positive reviews.

Refine

Refine the design and ad to mockups for clean presentation.
